My friend Rich borrowed his parents' car and off we went on holiday.
We hadn't seen each other since i moved to Devon and i was hoping
to show him the nicer side of the West Country, but unfortunatley,
the weather just didn't want to play. There were days in July this
year when the weather was as bad as it had been in February - and
it had been a bad February.
Still, Rich took it like it was just another day in the Valleys
and we had a great week.
So, needless to say, the photos are pretty lacking as there wasn't
many times we ventured out and about and the only really sunny day
was the day in Newquay.
The first
campsite, Manor House Farm at Strete (near Dartmouth)...
Some photos around Dartmouth...
The River Dart and Kingswear on the other side...
Lots of yachts in Dartmouth...
Most of Dartmouth is tiny steep little roads packed with lovely
terraced houses...
Rich...
Then we went to Cornwall, that's Rame Head...
Looking West...
A bird was hunting the cliffs just floating on the updrafts...
We had a go at fishing but the swell was a little much and the
water was too murky...
I think this is Seaton, but could be wrong...
Back to the tent...
You can't see me - right?...
The only decent weather day we had we went to Newquay...
As bays go it's one of the nicest...
Has some very nice des'res's...
I like wind farms...
There was a seal in the marina...
It was hanging
around waiting for the tourist boats and fishing boats to come
in to get some free fish...
I didn't take any pics of the town itself as it was mostly a tatt
market for wanabee surfers and wanabee hippies. But all in all,
Newquay ain't too bad...
Crazy gull...
I wasn't zooming this, i really did get this close with the camera...
