Bike
ride to Ladram Bay on 21 July 2008
The mission for the day was to check out Ladram Bay at low tide
in good light ready for an upcoming night fishing mission for conger
eels.
I think it's always best to have a good look at a fishing mark at
a very low tide before fishing it at high tide. You can save a lot
of tackle losses by knowing where the snaggy ground is that is only
visable at low but which you'll be fishing your lures and bait into
when it's high tide.
I suppose i could have been a bit more enthusiastic with my camera
and taken a load more pics, but truth be told i was happily enjoying
my cycling on a beautiful day and couldn't be bothered to keep stopping
to take loads of photos.

Half way point, out came the flask and i had a nice cuppa tea.

Dunno what this hedgerow flower is, but it was certainly worth a
photo.

I came back a different way and stopped in at Otterton
Mill and sat on the bank here and had lunch.

It was one seriously nice place. While i sat there a kingfisher
hit the water right in front of me and flew off with a small fish.
I've never seen a kingfisher catch a fish before, so that was worth
the whole trip on its own.
