The Stories

Interview with the Vampire

I think most people have seen this film, and while it is a fantastic film the book is far better. Not only that, but having read the book one will then be drawn to read the rest of the Chronicles.

Anne is a fantastic writer, and the contemporary vampire themes and characters that she creates and uses are fantastic.

If you liked the film, you'll love the books.

The Vampire Lestat

Having met Lestat as the villain in Interview with the Vampire, we now get to hear his side of the story.

Fed up with things, Lestat had withdrawn and buried himself under the Earth. He emerges into the 1980's, drawn out by the rock music from a nearby house. Deciding that he's now going to be a rock star he goes and introduces himself to the band, only to find out that they've already heard of Lestat the vampire from Louis' book, which was published while Lestat lie underground.

They give Lestat a copy of the book to read which spurs Lestat into writing his own autobiography. Lestat takes us back in time to his youth in rural France prior to the revolution, his making in Paris at the hands of the rogue Vampire, Magnus, and also to his discovery of the history of the vampires themselves.

But as the band, the videos and the book are released, there are lots of modern day vampires unhappy with Lestat's approach to things.

Queen of the Damned

Continuing on from The Vampire Lestat, Lestat's rock band are about to do a huge concert. Lots of other vampires are really annoyed with Lestat for his coming out and telling the world their secrets and make plans to do something about him at the concert.

Meanwhile Akasha, the vampire queen, has awakened and is flying around destroying all the other vampires as she has her own plans for Lestat - and the whole world as well.

A great tale that goes right back to the beginning of the vampire race, culimating in a battle for the future of it.

Who will win?

The Tale of the Body Thief

Lestat is given a chance to transfer his mind into a mortal's body.

The opportunity is not without risk. The mortal is well know to the Talamasca as a highly dangerous kleptomaniac who has the power to move into other's bodies at will.

Of course, Lestat doesn't listen to David or Louis' warnings not to deal with this man, thinking he has control over the situation, and thus our story unfolds.
